I have the front head pulled off the car and I am a little confused on how Ford presents the checking cylinder head specs. Ford seems to state that overall end to end does not matter as much but accross the head (thinner section) is more important for localized areas that exceed .001 inch.
If I place a straight edge accross the whole length from end to end I get a maximum reading of .004 between cylinders 2-4 4-6 6-8
However accross the thinner section the numbers are much better not exceeding .001. So is the head warped or not?
To me it seems like Ford wants a general idea for the first 3 pass length to length.
Followed by the 12 shorter paths for localized areas, not to exceed .001
Any Ideas?
