CV joint or just the boot ???

So I'm getting the typical rattle which I'm sure has been posted before. Can I just replace the boot and regrease the joint? Will the problem go away?

And if I do need new CV joints, should I replace the half-shafts, axles, all of it?

Plus, people were talking about doing the job for $60 bucks, but the joints themselves were $100 at AZ for driver's side.

NAPA....$60 for rebuilt halfshafts. I've had mine installed for nearly 2 years now, and no problems.

If the joints are making noise, it's too late for new grease and boot, you need a complete new CV axle.
