My cruise on my '92 has a pause before it engages, and it seems like it is somewhat out of adjustment. My cruise on my '92 GT works flawlessly, but the SHO has a lag. Any tips for adjusting it so that there is not pause and catchup when setting the cruise? I'm not sure if it is just the cable needing to be tightened or???

I'm quite sure that the delay is just part of the original design of the cruise control. Maybe not intentionally, but it is there. I suppose that you have learned to press and hold the SET button until the cruise control starts to accelerate the car. If you let off at that point, the car will maintain the speed that you were previously traveling. If there is a change that can circumvent this "feature," I would also like to hear about it.

The ATX's SHO has fully electronic cruise, one of the features I like about the ATX, no delay.
It also includes the tap up/tap down feature, where if you tap the coast button 4 times, your speed decreases by 4mph.

That is how it works on my Mustang, but it isn't near as smooth on my SHO.
Is my Mustang not the same as your ATX?

Really? My 95 ATX is vacuum operated. How does this system work on your car then?

If you have an ATX you should have the electronic cruise. One tap up increases speed one MPH, one tap down decreases speeed one MPH. It's quite nice, five taps and you bump your speed five MPH.

The MTX cars have the vacuum opererated cruise that does not have this feature.

My Mustang is a 5 speed too, but the cruise works like you speak of with your ATX. Is my Mustang's a vaccuum too?
