When I set the cruise, the car pulls and lets off, pulls and lets off.Its not REAL noticable, but enough to be annoying. It does this on a flat road or anywhere, any ideas why?

Normal. As the car slows, the cruise calls for acceleration which will feel like a surge. Even on flat road, there is friction that will slow the vehicle.

Check for a vacuum leak at the servo under the hood. Your's sounds like the surging is way more than normal.

Is the air conditioning on? The A/C compressor cycling on and off makes a step change of about 10 horsepower that can be used to propel the car. The cruise control must compensate for this load change just like it does for hills and dips.

Use the search feature - it will answer ALL of your questions! J/K :D

My MTX does the same thing and it drives me nuts. Sometimes it's REAL bad and I just have to turn it off, other times it doesn't do it at all.

I am pretty sure the MTX uses a vacuum-operated cruise, while the ATX uses electric. I think vacuum systems tend to have more problems, since all ATX Tauri I've driven have no problems maintaining a steady speed with the cruise on. All MTX Tauri I've driven surge, some worse than others.
