Cruise Control Question

I've noticed that when braking, my cruise control doesn't automatically shut off. I mean if I really press on the brakes it will shut off, but if it's just the nice little tap, the cruise control will just still be there. Is that normal for a 1992 SHO? Has anyone else run into this problem? To be honest, it seems pretty unsafe and I really want to fix it.

You can adjust the position of the brake light switch.

Same signal is used to turn on the brake lights as to disengage the cruise.

Where's the switch? By the brake pedal?

Stick your head under the dash and look on the brake pedal lever.
