When I did my rod bearings the other day I moved the cruise control motor, and the ring holding the two halves just disintegrated. I'm pretty sure it was causing a vacuum leak, but I don't know. I guess that's why my cruise didn't work. If there was a vacuum leak it wouldn't operate right???
For now I pulled it out I guess i'll have to buy a good used one. Are they year specific/sho specific?
