Last week I took my SHO to the dealer for the rear toe link recall. They replaced those and also found a bad inner tie rod which was replaced. Then they did a four wheel alignment (covered by the recall).
A few minutes after I drove away, I started getting a Cross Traffic Alert & Blind Spot Systems Malfunction. When backing up I could hear ONE beep and then it went silent an the message appeared in the cluster.
Tried disconnecting the battery and the error came back as soon as I backed up. Called the dealer to see if there was anything that needed re-setting after the alignment, and no.
Searched this forum and other to no avail. Did find a guy on Youtube that claimed that the little speaker that goes under the rear tray can cause this faults when it goes bad.
Ordered a new one from the dealer, PN varies by model/year.
Switched it an voila ! All fixed.
Older speaker was louder but heck, now every time I'm backing up I tell myself "this is how a 2022 SHO should sound like..."
To replace it, lower the driver's side rear backseat. Remove the plastic pin that secures the tray cover. Speaker is located right under it, secured by two plastic pins that can be easily pulled out.
I was pretty confident that this was my issue since the BSM (which is silent on the 2010) was still functional. Only the systems that worked with the speaker were off-line.
