SHO Victim
Well-
I'm ordering a Crankshaft Position Sensor. (Finally.) Once in a while the SHO would stall while driving, tach drop to zero, then about a half a second later would kick back in then drive like normal for a week or two.
Last weekend and Monday it would start ok in the morning then not start later on- the tach read around 500rpms while cranking. I'd clear the computer and it would start up, but run rough for a while..
I went to the garage and the fuel pressure was 30psi. (Cheap Autozone pump headbang ) and when I took the plug out of the camsensor and started, it barely ran and knocked a lot.
The weird part is that I ran the codes and got: 11, 14, 25, 66, 73, and 91. (I forgot to goose the throttle) They plug up the Star tester and got NO results- it said it couldn't read the codes. So he tries to look up the codes manually in the tester and it doesn't have ANY of the code #s I listed above!! Crazy, Huh?
So here I go soon tearing the engine apart. I'm SO thankful to my SHO that I've been able to learn such valuable mechanical skills...
And is this considered the front of the engine? I have a crankshaft seal # E9DZ-6700-B.
Thanx for all of your help. thumb Without it I'd have to take my SHO to a German shop (where they'd have NO experience w/ the car,) or the local Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) garage where they have almost no experience AND they're known to screw up simple jobs like changing a blown brakelight..
