Ive had a coolant leak for a long time now, its never really been a problem, as its been cool enough up until recently. The only thing that keeps my car from over heating is the fan now that its 80+ out. Im not running without Any antifreeze, but everytime it warms up and i stop and shut it off, it ****** it all over, really bad.

I hadnt started my car in a couple hours and fired it up to line up with my cousins new whip. We ran twice, for a little less then a quartermile each time. When i came home and parked it, went in the house, got a bowl of life cereal, and came outside, i saw this.

I know it has a red tint to it in the pictures but its something to do with the camera, flash, lighting blah blah. I assure you its antifreeze.. 93supersho swapped a 3.0 from an 89 at a scrapyard into my 93 (my current motor). He also said the overflow is cracked. I have a hard time believeing a cracked overflow could **** antifreeze the way my car is. The reason im posting is because im not familiar with how the antifreeze flows. I know it ends up in the overflow, and radiator at some point, but inbetween there im clueless. Any guesses as to where it could be leaking from?

My first and scariest thought was waterpump but my cousin doesnt think so, he also guessed the overflow. ofcourse this is just an educated guess. (glancing around under the hood). He said it doesnt seem to be coming from the motor itself.

Any help would be appreciated, i pretty much just drive my car from work and back now because of the antifreeze issue, combined with the heat. No more pleasure cruising.

My overflow tank cracked 3 weeks ago at pepboys. To check it, open up the radiator cap and if the radiator is full and the leak stopped, then its the overflow tank. To be sure you should pour some water in the overflow tank when it empty and your car is cold to see it dripping from the bottom of the overflow. If your radiator isnt full when you open the tank you will have to trace it otherwise from a different area. It worked for me in the parking lot. Good luck with the troubleshooting.:thumb:

Could be cracked overflow, leaking hoses, leaky water pump (but it wont leak that much at once so i doubt it) leaking or busted freeze plug if you rad is low which from the looks of that spill it could be a freeze plug. I assume since it was leaking you haven't added any more since you knew the over flow was leaking. I forget who but someone on here just found a leaky freeze plug right before the convention, the one behind the waterpump, so if its coming from that area thats possible too.

thank you for your imput guys! Yea i think if it were the waterpump it would've gone long ago, as this has been going on for awhile now. I never even thought of a freezeplug, never even crossed my mind actually... thanks for the ideas, im currently on the work comp but once i get home i'll take a better look and get some pics in the motor area. once again, thank you for taking the time to read my thread, and giving imput :hail:

My bet is the t-stat housing is playing games with you. Mine sometimes leaks/sometimes don't. It leaves a puddle like that when it does leak.
