Hi to everybody! I saw somebody had wrote about compatibility of Corvette gen 4,5 Front dual piston calipers to Taurus Gen2 94-95 without any modifications. Has anybody try it?
If you have a photo it will be nice.
Thank for your experience.

Well I don't want Cobra's calipers cause of bracket. Corvette calipers are dual piston and without any bracket, that is an advantage.

Unless we're talking about an aftermarket fixed caliper, then the C4 and C5 vette has a caliper and bracket setup very similar to the 13" Mustang Cobra upgrade that many of us have done. Even the pads are the same between the C4 and the Cobra calipers.

Could you clarify what you mean about the lack of a bracket?

I was looking G4 calipers on ebay and I have thinking that they don't have brackets. So I may be wrong.

I cant buy here Cobra's calipers but Corvette C4 it's easy. So my question is can I use it without change of spindles?

John Hrinson was the first to do the vette brakes. Neno did them, then Adam and Michelle bought them from him. If I remember correctly the rotors are so heavy you loose a lot of speed. Nenos no help for you now, he's out of town on business. I'll let him know someone is interested in doing it and he my post up here.

What year is your SHO? My guess is no, the brackets probably aren't the same.

The good news is that there is a company here, Rock Auto, that will ship to the Russian Federation. http://www.rockauto.com

The bad news is that you'll pay an arm and a bit for shippping. My guess would be 90USD or higher.

Then there's the issue of buying rotors for this setup as well, which while inexpensive, will require redrilling to the 5x108 bolt pattern, as well as the shipping costs involved (which will be a bit more than the calipers due to the additional weight).

91 SHO with 95y front spindles. rotors aren't problem I think. I'll use Taurus gen 4 rotors 11,6" or Crown Vic. 12"

If you use the 11.6 rotors, you'll need to machine new bolt holes into the brackets. The new holes would need to be .7" on center closer to the caliper.

Crown Vic rotors would be too small, and would also require redrilling for the 5x108mm bolt pattern.

And if I'll buy C4 calipers with C4 brackets it'll be easier to install? We have here a lot of C4 parts and no cobra

I can't say for sure. I don't know that the rotor offset is the same, and also the hub diameter is likely different (I believe it to be at any rate), which would require a centering ring to be fitted to the hub before installing the rotors.

The Cobra front rotors, while having a different bolt pattern, has an identical hub diameter to the '89 - '07 Taurus.

The 13" brakes were found on Mustang Cobra, Bullitt and Mach 1. Not sure if any of those models made it that far, but those are cars you can reference when looking for parts for the 13" setup.
