my 94 atx seems to after it heats up run on about the r and the m on the temp gauge and sometimes creeps up to the o. i have replaced the water pump, t-stat, both temp sensors under the t-stat, radiator, flushed system, and i cant get it to stay down unless the heat or air is on. i dont seem to be leaking coolant any where, but have blown three hoses. is this where the temp gauge should be or what else could be wrong?

Make sure both of the fans are coming on when it starts to get hot.
i had the same issue when i first got my SHO. I did the same thing's
that you did. then i checked the fans. Issue was fixed.

engine coolant temp sensor

Maybe the coolant is not hot at all , but the sensor tells you its hot.

Check the fans first.

What is wrong? Nothing. That is perfectly normal behavior. The coolant temperature is being maintained in the NORMAL range. Just make sure that the fan(s) turn on (with the climate control on VENT or FLOOR) when the temperature reaches approximately the "OR" range on the gauge. The fans should turn off when the gauge indicates "RM."

if the etc is near the stat (under it) i have changed that, also a lot of people have told me that the gauge is about right, i just have never had a car run in the middle or higher on the temp gauge not even my 85 mustang gt didnt run that high

The $3, 1-wire temperature sender for the instrument cluster gauge is under the thermostat. The $30-ish, 2-wire coolant temperature sensor that feeds a signal to the EEC is below and aft of the throttle body in the water distribution manifold that receives the water from the pump through the engine-spanning crossover tube and spans between the two heads.

Changing the cheap temperature sender on my engine caused the normally indicated temperature to move up the scale a couple letters in "NORMAL." Since that was the only change, I have confidence that the only difference was the calibration of the sender.

checked and the larger fan comes on but the smaller one only comes on with the heater or a/c so all that seems normal. over this past weekend i blew another hose(the one that is near the t-stat and goes to the heater core. will a blown head gasket cause the system to pressurize and blow these hoses.

blown head gaskets will leak coolant

1- outside the heads dripping on the ground (never seen that on a sho yet)
2- inside the head coolant will leak in a cylinder which cause a whole lot of white smoke out of your ehaust pipes.

well if thats the case i dont think the head gasket is blown or leaking, no symptoms of that. are both fans supposed to come on at the same time or just the bigger fan. or has anyone had blockage that would cause this. i dont know what else to do, i am becomming afraid to drive it because of blowing another hose. and after it warms up should the upper radiator hose become pressuerized.

ok on top of everything else i took the car to a shop and had a bg coolant flush and the temp gauge still runs high (between R and M ) and i also bypassed the heater core to see if mabe ther is a clog no difference. is it possible the fan is not blowing hard enough, it does seem to come on at the right times but i dont know how to check it. both fans do not come on only the larger one, i dont know for sure but isnt the smaller fan only when the heat or a/c is on right. does anyone know if the
fan motor for a 3.0 sho will fit the 3.2
