cooling issue

I got a 95 ATX and im havin a issue with the cooling system ive noticed that i run the car normal drivin the temp gauge goes all the way up to "O" in normal on the gauge n i think thats too hot but not too sure but when i have the heat on the car runs around the "A" and the "L" does anyone have the same issue or have any ideas on wahts goin on thanks

Probably a sensor going south. I would replace the coolant temp sensor and temp sender.

I'd also flush the system and put new coolant and water in. The coolant system is the most neglected in vehicles today.

It is still in the normal range but with that being said if it fluctuates like that your coolant may be low or there is an air pocket. like TYSHO said I would have a complete coolant flush done and I would also replace the thermostat.

Replace the radiator cap too, preferably with Motorcraft.
