Yesterday I stopped at the car wash and shut my car off, took the keys out, stepped out and the fans are still running, shit! I look a at the fuse and remove it and the fans stop. I unhook the battery for about 1 hour and see if that will reset everything, nothing. I drive back 30 miles to my house and get back and it is off, nothing. I have been driving it today and all is good. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone before? The temp of the car is fine in the city because i wathced them kick on and off, but sometimes they will not shut off even with the kes out...josh headbang shrug

i have not had that happen on my car, but a lot of cars will run the fan after the car is stopped to help cool the engine off after you have been driving it. give it a minute or two and if the fan doesn't shut off, there's a problem.

The fans are switched by your PCM which grounds the fan relay in the CCRM. If the fan was running after the key is off the CCRM had power and the fan relay was being grounded. Sounds like wire loom shenaigans.....

Most likely a shorted relay in the relay box.

Next time it happens, open the hood and give the relay box a sharp rap and see if the fans shut off.

BTW, mine does that when the box gets wet. Since you were at the car wash, were you washing your engine?
