On the '89, the fan operates like it should. It comes on when the temp guage reaches the "R" and shuts of when the gage goes back down to the "A". And it also runs when I turn on the AC.
But yesterday, I drove it to the hardware store a couple blocks away and the car never reached operating temperature. I got out of the car to go in the store and heard the fan running. I thought this was strange, but shrugged it off and went in to the store. I came back out about 10 minutes later and the fan was still on. I popped the hood and looked around (not knowing what I was looking for) and when I slammed the hood, the fan shut off. I started the car and the Temp guage read cold. Today, I checked the operation of the fan and it is working like it should.
Any one have this happen before?
