Greetings fellow SHO mavens,

My cooling fan is not working correctly; here's the symptoms. With the climate control set on vent the fan will never turn on. I almost overheated in a drive thru line because of this. If I switch to A/C the fan comes on but when I switch back to vent it will stay on for nearly two minutes even if the engine is well below normal temp. I suspect the CCRM but this failure mode seems odd so I thought I'd see if you folks have any ideas about this.

Don't have the PN off hand.. try a search.

It's located below the throttle body on the right hand side of the thermostat. It has a two wire plug, and needs a 1'' (IIRC) socket for removal/installation.

Any auto parts store carries them, however, make sure you purchase the brass one as some stores sell a plastic unit that doesn't like to come back out.

What if it is the CCRM that has failed? I just found out that my Ford dealer can't order one because it is obsolete. Where can I get a CCRM?

They're easily available aftermarket (remanufactured) or used from other members or from ebay. Virtually everything on the early SHOs is no longer available from Ford. Fact of life.

What year? You have two SHOs in your signature and they require different versions of the IRCM/CCRM.

See my posts in the stickied thread in the electronics sub-form for details how the modules work.

Thanks Steve but I have more questions. I tried to get a CCRM from O'Riellys and they said that they couldn't find one. Also, both of my SHOs are '95s so how can you tell that they need different CCRMs? Finally what does ECT stand for?

Sorry, one more question. Please help me understand what "stickied thread in the electronics sub-form" is and how to find it. I'm new to this forum stuff. Thanks for your help.
