Coolant temp sensor location?

As the title says! i recently purchased a 92 SHO, w/ 230 km on the car and 140 km on the motor and 40000 km to go on the 60k! when i bought the car the temp guage worked fine! parked it for a few weeks with the battery disconected, when i fired it back up again no temp guage! its not working ive looked around and cant find any obviouse locations! can you help me? any test i can do to see if the guage is faulty? and has anyone installed a aftermarket temp guage and how do they work? thanks!

There are two, one for the PCM and one for the gauge. The one for the gauge is on the thermostat housing/coolant manifold under the throttle body, and it has a single wire lead. The PCM one has two or three IIRC.

Thanks for the pic i need to get one for my 90. Same thing happened to mine, worked fine when i got it, car sat in the garage for a month get it out and now it doesnt work

thanks for all the help guys! :thankyou: just wondering is all the coolant gonna pour out when the sensor is removed? i betting yes, but any tips or info from someone who has changed one personally would be great! but what if its the guage? does anyone know a test for the guage?

all? no, some? yes, my guess 1/-1/2 gallon I didn't measure when I did my ECT I just let it go all over the school parking lot:rofl: IIRC the gauge temp sensor its a little higher up then the ECT, so you might not lose as much as I did.
