Convention 07'

The smell of spring is in the air, and summer is just around the bend... What does that mean for us?!? SHO Convention 2007 in Kalamazoo!!

So I think maybe we should take a roll and see who is going to the 07' SHO convention in Michigan this year. As most of you know it is the week of july 15th to the 21st (depending on how many days you want to stay)

The reason i make this is for us wisconsin people to have a "caravan" to go with. I plan on heading out Monday, but that can easily change if most are heading out on sunday...

Ok, so obviously I am now seriously planning on going, I just found out today that i will be working this summer at AUTOZONE so i will have a bit more money coming in, and hopefully enough to get me to the convention safely

So Here it is, all the information for the WISCSHO chapter and how we are getting to the convention.

REMEMBER, if you want to save money, you can have up to 4 people share a hotel room!! Making lodging well below $100 for the entire convention!

Why, I brought the 98 last year instead of the SRT, this year the GTO is coming, much more fun!

In all reality both will probably be there.

Well I didn't mean it like that!

Benefit of getting there Sunday night is that there are a lot of people that do, which means one extra night in the parking lot basically. It's nice to get there and be settled. Not much happens on Monday morning or afternoon, so you aren't missing much by driving over and saving the hotel costs of an extra night in terms of Monday.

www.shoclub.com should have all that information. I think when you send in your registration material, you can enter your credit card information or possibly a check too. I have never personally filled out anything as Adam has taken care of everything the past two conventions, but that's how I have always understood it. When Monday comes around and you "register" there, which means you check-in and get all of your information, you can pick up your t-shirt or hat and your registration number for your windshield. Hope that makes sense. I am tired and ready for bed.

i am more surprised at the stupidity of owners than that of the "error" of pontiac... i havent heard about this yet, but i know that every car burns oil, even when bought brand new, and every car burns oil when you "get on it" the rings just cant get every bit of oil off of the walls

now, i have not heard about that situation, so if it is something else... like oil just plain out leaking... then thats pretty funny, especially since the GTO was such a success


and miltown, i cant belive you asked why you should bring the SHO...

CUSTOMER ADVISTORY LETTER
ANNOUCEMENT

General Motors is issuing a Customer Advisory Letter for 2005-2006 Pontiac GTO vehicles equipped with six speed manual transmission (RPO – M12) reminding customers to check their engine oil level.

The letter points out that oil consumption may increase if the vehicle is driven in an "aggressive" manner with high engine RPM (3,000 RPM to redline) and frequent engine braking. This characteristic requires the owner check the engine oil level at sufficiently frequent intervals, especially when driving aggressively, to assure the oil level remains within the recommended operating range. As the owner's manual recommends, the customer should check the oil level every time fuel is purchased.

A customer letter will be sent to all customers of record. Please see the attached customer letter for details.

As the owner of a Pontiac GTO with a Six Speed Manual Transmission, your satisfaction with our product is very important to us. This letter is to remind you to check your engine oil level at every fuel stop to assure it is within the operating range at all times, particularly if you drive aggressively.

A higher rate of oil consumption is normal for vehicles equipped with manual transmissions that are driven aggressively. By “aggressive,” we mean operation at high RPM (3,000 RPM to redline), with frequent use of engine braking (using the engine to slow the vehicle). This characteristic does, however, require the owner to check the engine oil level at sufficiently frequent intervals, especially when driving aggressively, to assure the oil level remains within the recommended operating range. As the owner’s manual recommends, you should check the oil level every time you get fuel.

Operating your vehicle with an oil level that is below the minimum level indicated on the engine oil dipstick can result in severe engine damage. Repairs resulting from operating an engine with insufficient oil are not covered under the terms of the New Vehicle Warranty.

Important: It is not necessary to take your vehicle to your Pontiac dealer as a result of this letter.
