Hey guys.. So about 4000 miles ago i decided to replace my front drivers side control arm becuase it had alot of play in it. If i jacked the car up with the tire off i could move the arm slightly back and forth in place with my hands. The passenger side was tight with no noises. I could deff feel a weird shimmy as if the tires was off of balance on that side (which it was) and a some what shacky steering wheel at 60 mph. When turning through parking lots or turning over bumps the arm would clunk real bad, or on ocassion just at random times depending on how pressure was being put on it. So I ended up replacing the arm with a 45$ one from auto zone.. it went on fine with no probs and i got it nice and snug. I put a fw miles on the car and rechecked every thing to make sure it was tight. But now after about 4000 miles it is doing the same thing again and the control arm is all sloppy and moving back and forth like the previous one that i had on the car. Everything is tight so i'm not sure if i missed something or what i should do. I also want to add that before i replaced the control arm i put two brand new tires on the font of the car and the drivers side front tire was extremly bald compared to the passenger one at roughly 50% tred. My alignment was obviously off and i have yet to have it aligned since the new tires and control arm.. Could my bad alignment have cuased this problem again?? if anyone has any idea's, maybe i should have replaced somthing else with the control arm? Or If i do the control arm again just make sure that it's aligned right away??...

This is a 1994 atx sho with 128,000miles :thankyou:

I don't know if bad alignment would cause your control arm issue, but you're going to destroy your new set of tires until you get it aligned. I'd get another control arm in there, make sure it's got plenty of grease, and get it aligned right away.

You could check out your strut rod too while you're in there. The receiver can break free of the subframe and cause sloppy driving issues and clunks.
