7 months later and I still look back every time I walk away from this big beautiful beast of ours. Where I live (Jacksonville FL) you rarely see SHOs. I've seen my share of Sels and limiteds but less than a handful of SHOs. People ask me all the time what kind of car this is and compliment it and show genuine interest in it. Couldn't be happier with my decision to get it as it is easily my favorite car I have owned. I just feel the looks of the car is so vastly underrated compared to everything out there. I think chargers and challengers look good but there's millions of em on the road. I'd def prefer to have something that is more of a rarity which this car seems to be. Just curious where you guys live are there lots of SHOs and what kind of feedback do yall typically get about em.

There WERE a handful of SHO's around me here on Long Island, but I don't see that many any more. Certainly not pre-2013, that's for sure.

The best compliment I got about my 2013 when I first got it was a long-time friend of mine who's a car guy like me took a look at it when I first showed up at work and said "that thing looks mean".

To me, there is no other car out there that has the "look" of a Gen IV especially with the black grill. Looks like a shotgun slug or something especially with dark paint. It evokes a sense of a rocket nosecone. I just don't have the right words to describe it.

I know exactly what you are saying, when my car is washed and the rims are polished, tires shined, I just feel like nothing I see on the street looks better in this car class.

I get a lot of compliments as well. It’s true alot of people don’t know what it is or what’s it about. I was eating at a restaurant one night with my wife, and upon leaving I see a young kid and a girl walking around my car as we were walking out and 2 parking spaces away from me was a 1990 Toyota Supra not best shape but the fact someone has that car still and driving it I thought was awesome. So I asked the kid is that your Supra and he said yes is said I like it and he said is that your SHO and I Said ya. He said he always tells is girlfriend about them but doesn’t see many around he was excited too see one, he thought it was the most awesome thing to see. Glad I could make someone happy ! Like I am driving the car. It was just a good feeling ya know.

I always look back when I park my car but after a fresh wash it I usually stop and stare for a second.

I will say I see at least a SHO or two a week in Chicago during my commute.

I feel like this is a good grown up fun vehicle. Used to drive a wrx before this and its no comparison for me in overall comfort and quality. Guy parked beside me other day at store in an sti and gave me a look lol. Like i heard there is some kind of beef between sti owners and sho owners but idk if its just here or bs my buddy in car scene was selling me. I will say he genuinely looked at me with a condescending smirk which was funny to me.

I get the kid once and a while that know what a SHO is. They always just look ask the usual questions. I have actually been complimented more on my SHO then any other car I have owned. I glad FMC keeps these cars under wraps. It just makes our community that much more unique and cooler.

I’ve seen one other one in my area. It’s even the same color. Nobody generally knows what mine is, though. There’s somebody my wife works with that has a 4th gen limited and thinks I’m crazy for paying what I did for a used Taurus. Nobody she works with believes the car is quick. They don’t believe her Ecoboost Flex is quick either.

I got a thumbs up from a guy in a Challenger Hellcat at the Costco gas station the other day, though. Go figure.

My buddy has a 2018 Charger Hellcat and he loves my SHO. He shakes his head everytime he gets out of it saying, "A F*&KING Taurus shouldn't be that quick". I laugh because I know deep inside he wants one...lol.

I think that might be overblown. The same people who care enough about STIs to "have a beef" probably don't really know enough about SHOs to care. But that's just my personal experience.

My most recent story of a compliment was last month when I was waiting to have my car checked at a camping music festival. We had been sitting for close to two hours in line and of course was behind this plastidipped purple WRX with the windows down blasting trash dubstep. The whole time people were walking up complimenting her on her car and what not. Funny part is she could barely drive a manual, you could see her struggling to get up the hill from a dead stop I had to leave at least ten feet between us. Anyways, a group of younger guys walked by, most of them all excited over the obnoxious WRX but as they passed my car, one kid pauses and I could hear him say "Oh, that's a SHO". He tapped his buddy to look and the other kid just looked confused. The one guy who actually knew what my car was turned around to check out the SHOs ass before turning the corner. It made me happy.

I genuanly any very happy with buying a bronze fire sho. It looks good. I know it and people tell me it looks good too. Random walkers by, dealerships when I bring it in for service, even some of my neighbors.

I had one dealership ask why I worked so hard to make my P.I. look like a S.H.O.

I walked out to my car to see a lady taking pictures of my car on the opposite side that I could see. I was FREAKING out because I thought for sure she hit it and was being responsible and making documenting photos. Turns out she just really liked the car and color. Didn't know it was a Ford, a Taurus or a SHO.

The other kinda fun thing. Back home in mn, the state troopers are brown with white doors. With my winter wheels on its a very close carbon copy. I get people in Mn and Mi that won't pass me in the winter months.

I think this weekend the snow tires are going on. It's been below 45 most every morning thus week. Sad day...

I share many of the same stories. I've had folks honk at stop lights to ask about it, folks yell out their window asking what it was, and just recently, a guy stopped in the median as I was turning to tell me how awesome it looked and asking what it was.... Then there are folks in the car amazed at the technology my 8yr old car has that is missing in their BMW, Mercedes and Audi's.
Definitely a hidden gem of the automotive world.

Some day I need to drive a Hellcat. The wife and I have a 2012 Coyote Mustang too, and I don’t even have a desire to drive it anymore now that we have the SHO. Yes, the Mustang is quicker, though not a LOT quicker, but the SHO achieves it’s speed effortlessly, and you can floor it just about anytime you want in most road conditions. That’s definitely not true in the Mustang. You have to work harder in the Mustang, and it’s always trying to **** you. Lol. I’d imagine the same is true of Hellcats.

The Hellcat is alot like the SHO and the Mustang mixed together. It moves effortlessly because of the PD blower but it can get real wild if you allow it. I am actually going out to CA to race either his Hellcat or his new 2018 Grand Sport Corvette. I should take a L in either race, but it is just a Taurus lol.

The Mustang used to be a weekend toy. Now it’s not that impressive after getting used to the SHO so it mostly just sits. We’ve talked about selling the Mustang and getting something something that will tickle the oh sh*t meter a little more for weekends and car shows. A late model Hellcat would definitely be high on the list. I’m leaning more toward a 2013-14 GT500, though. The performance for the difference in money from our 5.0 is pretty hard to beat, and I think it will hold value better than a Hellcat.

I was watching "Chasing Classic Cars," and one episode Wayne was trying to buy a car from a guy that was not for sale. He got the guy to take him for a ride and when they came back, got out of the car, and started walking to his house Wayne stopped him and said, "you know, when you don't stop and look back at your car, the love is over and time to sell." He bought the car that day!

I'm in Charlotte and there's not a ton of them around. Originally I'm from metro Detroit where everyone knows what a SHO is. Very few people here know what they are but real car enthusiasts get excited when they see it. I've occasionally been complimented at gas stations, get thumbs up, one dude rolled his window down at a traffic light yelling sweet ride. Most people think it's a 'nice' Taurus but are oblivious to what's hiding underneath. My favorite thing to do though is dispatch German cars in the stop light Grand Prix. The looks on their faces can be priceless lol
