I also do not run up a lot of miles any more, and as we have a Jimmy for bad winter weather, rare as that is on the east coast of Vancouver Island, I am now running only barely all season tires, the Yoko Advan S4s. So far, which is maybe 5k run out, I like them a good deal. Tire Rack writeup is here:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Yokohama&tireModel=ADVAN+S.4.

At this rate, they will last a long time, so I have no idea what I will get next as it could easily be a model that does not even exist now. :) But I would like to find a 235/50/16, ideally. It appears to be a very uncommon size, though.

I've been running the 225/50 Nittos for the last 4 sets of tires. They are a great all season tire. Just wanted to get some good sticky summer tires as I have a couple extra sets of rims.

I too would like some 235/50s but indeed they are a rare breed.

Yes I'm sure. I know of their shortcomings as far as ultimate grip. But they are a very good street tire and surprisingly good in the snow.
