I was driving my car last night it was cold out. -20C or -5f. Shortly into my trip I looked down at the tach for the first time and noticed it was only at about 1700rpm, looked at the speedo and it was a bit over 60 mph. Whats going on here? Anyone have any ideas?? Car runs fine. After about 30 minutes everything seemed normal.

Last summer I had a bit of a surprise when my tach read zero even though I was in motion. Happened twice, I think in my case it was a bad sensor connection.

Since yours is showing an RPM reading then perhaps you needle is slipping?
