Has any body installed a K & N Typhoon cold air kit on 2014 0r 15 SHO ? I wondering about the improvement without a tune and does it seem any louder on the intake side? K & N is the only system I can find due to fact Ford put a cold air sensor in the intake tube and nobody else make a system to adapt to it. Thanks, boddy396

I'm in the process of making my own CAI, I really can't see paying $300 for a 1 foot tube with someones name on it when I can build the same thing for less than $100 with the filter. Not that hard to make a mount on a tube for the sensor with simple tools. $300 just doesn't justify the small increase in HP and Torque to me, I'm just that way. Look at the "DYNO" post just below this one for Dyno proven results with the K&N CAI.

Without a box around the K&N, in real tests at the track it fails for any kind of performance. On the dyno with fresh cool air being pumped into an open hood it does ok...but real world it has been proven to lose power.

Yes, I track tested the Typhoon vs Stock box with K&N panel filter, the car ran .150 faster with stock box. It's nice eye candy, but that's its.

I have a K&N intake, the turbo's are very noticeable under full load, with the windows down. With them up its barley louder then stock. Normal driving its not much different either way.
As for performance, its minimal, in my exp I picked up .15 over stock
