whenever i put a open cone cold air intake on my 95atx sho everything runs great and sound mean as **** but then i get problems. after running her ******* the highway and i start driving in the city the car will stall randomly and sometimes starts back up and goes and sometimes starts but dies instantly.btw i have the idle air temp sensor just under the hood could that be my problem for the stalling? when the car gets to hot under the hood/. also i have the maf in the same spot as the factory i just added piping after it to the open cone. if i put the factory air box back in the car will never stall's like this. if i baby her she rarley does this just when im on her the i drive normal its very random and very annoying?????

If the cone is under the hood, so should be the sensor.. if its a real CAI like in the pic.. it needs to be outside the fender, or in the tube.

If it is an open cone under the hood, that is a hot air intake. Although the car will sound mean, it will run slower than stock once warmed up, as it is pulling hot air from under the bonnet. The stocker is a cold air intake pulling air from outside the fender. By removing the outer airbox in the fender, this will make the stocker sound better too !

Are you using a different MAF sensor with the CAI? IOW not the same one you're using with the stock setup? Sounds like a dirty MAF sensor to me, possibly fouled by filter oil.
