Autozone has an OBDII code scanner for $149.00. All new cars use the same interface.
All new cars are OBDII compliant and use the same plug. However, there is 3 different protocols and most code scanners will only read one or two and sometimes three. Usually you'll have to pay more if you want it to read more than one.

I picked up an Equus scanner from autobarn.com for $170 and it works on all three protocols so it will read codes from any car. I've used mine quite a few times and has saved me a couple of trips to the dealer. It's the best $170 I ever spent.

Thanks everyone for the info! Anything over $100 is a little too rich for my blood. Autozone pulls codes for free, but I don't like having to take it their for every code that pops up, but I will for free!!

Thanks again for the help.
