I noticed my sho steers difficult. I'm not sure if it has vaps steering since it is a 92.. I have a trouble code 536 which says the circuit is open. .Do i have a pump problem, a rack and pinion problem or maybe a bad ground.. Any ideas out there?? Thanks

536= BOO circuit fault. Usually, this is due to an operator mistiming while running the KOER test. It has nothing to do with your steering.

You will have to look at your rack and see if you have the VAPS rack installed. We are not in a position to guess.

If it is a VAPS rack, it may be stuck in a low-boost mode for various possible reasons. This would cause a continuous increased steering effort.

Do check your fluid level. In most events, low fluid usually causes increased effort or pump noise, or both.
