code 526

I am getting a 526 code nps circuit closed ac on. Can I simply unplig ac unit to bypass?

Well, the NPS is the Neutral Position Switch, so I'd focus on that first... I don't know how the AC being on would matter... the whole code doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

I think that just means that you had the AC running while you did the test.

yeah... that's what it looked like to me. It was right between two "duh, you screwed up the test" codes, so I figured that's what it should be but I couldn't tell for sure...

Does your A/C work? If it is say low on refridgerant, and the switch was stuck on.. it wouldn't run anyway. Mines dry, wont run if I try. Just a thought.

Maybe it was a stored code but I thought I cleared codes. Anyway the ac unit is causing my car to surge an I was told to pull relay or bypass it.

oh and no it does not blow cold air. I do have records of the ac clutch being serviced a couple of times.

well if you want to bypass it, just pull the little plug on top pof the accumulator/dryer. That's the easiest way...

Sure you read the code right? I don't see why it would think it is on if its not.
