Just curious if anyone has ever looked into whether or not these will fit the SHO. It appears as though the rotor is the same as the standard Cobra, it just comes with a pair of nice looking four *** Brembo binders. Also included are steel braided brake lines (though I do not think they would fit the SHO?) and all required hardware (for install on a Mustang of course)

What year of Mustang are those supposed to fit? Do you know the rotor diameter? If it's for an SN95 I think it's essentially the same as the Baer 12" kit, i.e., may bolt directly to a 94-95 spindle. Looks like potentially so, anyway.

Excepting for the hub bolt pattern, of course.

Those are the same brakes off of the '00 Cobra R. The e-bay ad I saw them on says they can be used as an upgrade on the 03 Cobra's, so I guessed it would bolt on.

Eric, this is the description on the auction;

M-2300-X*
• Original equipment on 2000 Ford Mustang Cobra “R”
• Kit includes Brembo® four piston calipers, 13" slotted rotors, stanless steel brake lines, brake pads and hardware
• This kit can be used to upgrade the front brakes on 1994-04 GT, 1994-04 Cobra, 01 Bullitt, or 03/04 Mach 1
• May require larger wheels like M-1007-R189/R189C/F500/F500C

Personally, I am not going to spend $975 for what is essentially just a pair of calipers, as I already have the PBRs. If someone was purchasing their initial brake upgrade this may be a feasible idea.

Thanks again for the link Steve.

Didn't the '00 cobra R have 14" rotors? I Think you may need an 18'' rim to clear those with the big calipers.

From what I read they should work. You would need to redrill the rotors for our hubs (13" diameter in the listing so they should fit 17" wheels). The only other concern is whether the Brembo Calipers are wider and might hit our rims. On the 12" Cobra set up, spacers are required to fit slicers. On the 13" rotor/17" wheel combo, you get more room,, but it might be an issue???

Or ... You can go over to the group buys and pick up a very similar set up (except for the plain PBR caliper) for less than half the price [shamless plug  ].

I am working on enhancing the kit to make the rotors lighter, and maybe even putting some logo on the caliper. Stay tuned.

Not that I dont want to support people in the community. But FWIW, I have found Cobra calipers on ebay for $200 or less, and rotors for $160 for all four rotors. Granted there isn't a kit available yet to make the Cobra rear rotors work, but I still think this is a good deal. So, I'm looking at spending no more than $400 bucks for the 13" Cobra set up.

GeneSHo has some knowledge about using these brakes on a SHO. From what I recall there is problem with the lines not working out. Apparently there is some additional fabrication involved. I suggest you check it out with him.

Dan, as Mike mentioned, this kit comes with 13" rotors. At any rate, see you at Dave Dotson's place this weekend!

Mike, you know I would not try to redirect business away from you. :) I have been ******* for nwshoparts quite a bit lately. ;) This kind of cubic dollar input is going to require a track enthusiast. I figured it would fall somewhere between the "standard" Cobra style 13" PBR setup and the TCE Wilwoods.

Steve, are you sure that the auction you sent me a link for with the rotors was for all four corners? I could research it myself, but I am lazy. It is just that I could have sworn it was only a pair.

leer12, The brake lines would not work on an SHO to my knowledge. You need either stock rubber brake lines or the SHO specific steel braided units. For either of these you need Cobra banjo bolts to attach the hoses to the calipers. At least that is how it works with the PBR 13" setup.

Which link glen? The Cobra R brakes was just for the fronts. If you do a search for cobra rotors, you should find a couple auctions that list front and rear for around $160 bucks. Or at least, there was a week ago.

Hi Glen,

The big dollar item of this kit is the calipers. The rotors may be 13.25" or 13.5", but I am not 100% sure. All of my car freeks friends drive late model Mustangs. If one of them ever decides to order this Brembo kit (other source than eBay), I will try to borrow one of the calipers and test mount it on the SHO.
For 4-6 piston calipers, the other options are the Alcon calipers. Again mucho mula. There is also the Roush Brake upgrade which consists of 14" rotors and 4 piston calipers. However to clear the 14" rotors on the Roush kit, 18" wheels will be required.

I went the Cobra caliper (same as PBR / Baer) method with 13" Powerslots. Had the '96 brake upgrade previously and all I have to say is with the 13" ... you gonna stop. :thumb:
