Ok,

92 w/173K No knowledge of history.

The problem is that when you let off the clutch it won't grab. I guess the new owner (semi-friend) drove it to my parent's house when it happened (3 miles) and said that he had to rev it to 4K or something to get it to move. It goes into all the gears fine with no noises, grinding or pulsating. It just won't move. He said it happened all at once. I sold the car to him and I had no problems with it. It never slipped at all when I drove it. Now, even if the clutch itself wasn't the problem (which I am guessing it is) I think that the clutch is glazed beyond repair. Oh, I guess the pedal feels 'weird' not sure what that means... I feel terrible. :frown: Any suggestions or explainations as to WTF happened?

PS I did go through 20 pages of search results...

My bet is he either doesn't know how to drive a stick and rides the clutch pedal to the point where it glazed it over or he did a nice long smokey burnout which glazed it. That is providing that you had no prior problems with it. If the car does move eventually that would pretty much rule out any problems with the shifter being attached properly and the tranny internals. If the pressure plate is damaged it can cause a "weird" feeling clutch pedal.

Well when I sold the car to him I warned him about SHOBOOM and he claims that there were no burn outs. But I do know he isn't too handy with the 5spd as of yet... My Father says the pedal feels fine the last 1/3 of the travel but after that he said it feels like there is no pressure. Could it be a cable problem?

I am interested in this as well, because of the problems lately with the '94. I would really like the clutch troubles to be a cable problem, or something simple that I can fix vs having to take the car to someone who actually knows what they are doing. I just can't tear another SHO apart right now, plus my SHO needs a front 60k so it will stop spilling oil all over itself. Sadly, I wouldn't be terribly surprised if the people who worked on the car glazed the disc, because until it was taken in it drove beautifully (just like in your case) not to mention that it only has 10k on it now.
