I am in the works of getting my stuff together for a mtx swap I'm working on. I parted out a car with a Fidanza flywheel and was getting it cleaned up to use and noticed its to small. The friction disk measures 9.5 inches and you can see where the disk was rubbing it on both sides(obviously the disk is 9.75). Was this flywheel made for the recall clutch (9.25)? Thanks.

Not sure about the origin, but if you love your Fidenza flywheel, it is most likely possible to Re-drill it to accept the 9 3/4" pressure plate.
You should contact Fidenza and see if they made a 9 1/4" flywheel.

The area where the friction surface bolts on is recessed in the flywheel so no. I don't even know if I love it. Right now I think I hate it because it was part of my rational for buying the car it was in, and it looks like I can't use it.

I will probably catch a lot of flack for saying this, but if your goal is to use the flywheel, I would use the 9 1/4" kit. They are quite inexpensive (as there is almost no demand). Lets face it, a new 9 1/4" clutch system is better than a worn 9 3/4" system. It would be a super light flywheel with the lightest clutch system, so the rev response would be impressive. Even if you use the 9 3/4" system, it is never very long until it has to come out due to the Throw Out Bearing failure.
Just a thought.

Yes you will. There was a recall on those clutches for a reason. I would never touch them.

Yet.... there are still people who are dismantling SHOs that are finding the original 9 1/4" clutch system in place, that has been performing well all these years.

As I recall, the steel insert in the aluminum flywheels was a little smaller than the od of the clutch disc, so I think you have the correct flywheel. The key question is if you want the 12lb flywheel in your car or not.

Seems weird Ill have to try and confirm it mabye with fidanza. Anybody have one laying around they would be willing to look at? I dont really know if I want to use the flywheel, opinions seem to be mixed.

That includes me, my original 9 1/4 lasted 135k before the TOB finally gave in.

What does the front side of the flywheel look like? The larger insert version goes nearly to the bolt holes for the pressure plate.

I think they never updated the flywheel or if they did it was not untill later.

Very few still have the orignal clutch. shobote would be the first I know of. It still would not be a good idea to suggest a recalled part
