Is there any difference in these stock clutch kits? Are all of them actually Valeo kits with different names on the boxes or is there more to it? All of these are "repair kits" which have pressure plate, disk, release bearing, release bearing sleeve (which comes only in repair kits), and alignment tool.

Rock Auto:

Beck Arnley 0616186 $278.89
Brute Power 92191 $262.79

Autozone

Duralast NU0122RK $272.99 - Lifetime Warranty
Luk 07-078 $329.99

I would pick the Beck Arnley kit because I think they have good quality control on their parts, but I will get the Duralast from Autozone because of the lifetime warranty if boh are the same parts inside the box.

Footnote: If you navigate on Autozone, it will come up with Duralast NU0122 for the SHO, for $221.99. I don't think that kit has the relase bearing sleeve included. You have to search on pn NU0122RK.

All the clutch kits are made by Valeo and will have "Valeo" stamped on the pressure plate. Some manufacturers such as Clutch Masters modify the stock clutches for more heavy duty use.

Some of those companies also source the clutch disc from low quality offshore sources, or they are remanufactured (new linings riveted on). So they aren't all the same.

I noticed Brute Power refers to offshore sources on their web site but wasn't sure if that appled to the SHO parts. I'm not buyng one of those regardless.

So how can I tell if a clutch disk is brand with high quality friction material vs. a rebuilt disk? Does the Duralast from Autozone include a brand new disk?

The Duralast kit from Autozone comes with all the Ford stamps and stickers on both the disc and pressure plate, they're not sourced from anywhere else as I have bought 3 or so and had the same results. When looking up on the Autozone website, you only come across the correct kit [NU0122RK] when looking under the 89 model.
