When I turn sometimes there is a single audible clunk I can also feel coming from the front of the car. Is this a common SHO problem and if so what is the fix? It is only when I cut the wheel at a certain point and doesn't seem to affect the car at all other than being annoying to me since I am **** retentive about this kind of stuff.

Check where the front strut rods pass through the sub frame. More info is available at the top of the page under "joined the broken subframe club".

Like already stated it is more than likely your subframe bolts/bushings, strut rod bushings, or a c/v axle giving up the ghost.

Hmmm well I had the thing checked out like a month ago and new subframe bushings were installed. I also had a wheel hub done too so I dunno wtf is going on. I'll check the undercarriage this weekend and figure out wtf it is. I'm also getting a very slight vibe at 80 on the highway but I am guessing it is the fact that the previous owner mixed and matched tires on this car. Yes, each tire is a different brand lol.

Ah, I love this stage of used car ownership. The "find out what is REALLY wrong with the car and fix it" stage.

Check the axle nut on the side you had the hub bearing replaced. If it is loose you will experience both of the problems you mentioned.

I have had cv axles that have caused vibrations at highway speeds several times. However there are several other things that can cause vibrations like out of balance wheels, or bad hub bearings.

also, check for any backlash and then trace it down; jack up the front of the car, pull on the top while pushing on the bottom of the tire; if there's play, check the tie rods. Also might be an endlink loose or broken ?

The endlinks are those long white plastic connectors that connect the swaybar right? If so then that wouldn't be it because they are brand new.

Also, the thing is clunking sometimes when I accelerate too. Not all the time, actually almost never but it does happen. I'm thinking I might be looking at some new struts, spring isolators, swaybars etc... I'm just REALLY hoping it isn't a motor mount.

Oh well, at least the car runs strong and the tranny shifts smoothly(knock on wood).

Check the axles, i just replaced mine and put in hub and bearing kits. I had a loud clunk or snap turning, on the gas at times and even tapping the brake rolling slow thru a lot. It eventually was both sides making noises and what I replaced fixed it. Also got 2 miles per gal more this last tank.

Ugh, I don't want to have to do axles too... How much do they usually run and is it something I can do myself?

does it click while turning when your sitting still? or only when you are moving? if it only does it when you are moving i'd check the strut rod bushings as mentioned or the CV axles. if it only does it when your not moving, check the strut bearings. i''ve got a bad strut bearing right now and it sounds identical to a cv joint failing but it only clicks when your sitting still and turning, sometimes when moving but mostly when sitting still.

Clunks while I'm moving but only at slow speeds and only sometimes. Btw did you send out my parts yet?

Did you happen to get alum SFB's installed? I got a car that someone had installed some ASFB's on and they were installed incorrectly and caused an awful clunk when accelerating or when coming to a stop or turning sharp into a parking space. Had to remove them and install them correctly (they were misalgined).

**** no this car was bone stock when I got it and still is for the most part. Doing the 60k and fixing alot of little stuff was my priority. Now that I've been driving the car back and forth to school I am wanting to do the suspension and get rid of all the noises. However I think I might just say screw it and start really concentrating on the 5.0 I have sitting.
