Alright, so when I turn at tighter angles at slow speeds there is what sounds like a clunk. Sometimes when I straighten out it clunks back too. It seems like it does it more if I am turning at odd angles(out of the underground parking garage) or back up in reverse with the wheel turned a decent amount.

I recently have done a lot of suspension stuff. I have done Quick struts, end links, and this past weekend I changed the control arm on the passenger side(where it sounds like it is coming from). It seems like since changing the control arm, it occurs easier/more frequently now. I have been told the tie rods are fine.

From searching the forums, it sounds like this could be subframe bushing problems. I do have a reinforced motor mount on the front also. I just thought I would get some more input before ordering some. Maybe there is something I am completely overlooking.

Thanks

Have a good look at the sub frame bushings. That would be my bet at this point.
**** up the front captive nuts (near the rad) and have a peek through the holes in the floor at you captive nuts in the rear position and **** them up as well. Try removing the bolt from underneath, one at a time, and if all goes well, try tightening them up again and see the amount of "squish" your current sub frame bushings are experiencing.
If it is clunking, it is because the bolt is loose, so determine that first.

Thanks for the responses. Ill have to try and look at it more this weekend.

Thinking about it more, it seems more likely I will need to get that metal bushing repair kit along with new bushings. I originally thought the subfram bushings but after changing the control arm last weekend, the noise occurs more. (stiffer control arm = strut rod thing making more noise) So this is more than likely the problem.

Thx

Figure Id follow up.

Pulled it apart this past weekend, the "broken subframe" is not an issue. The cups looked 100% solid. Replaced the bushings on them, but the noise is still there.

Could the subframe bushings being crappy/loose and causing the clunk? Thats what I think it could be now but who knows. It usually only clunks in reverse with the wheel turned all the way and backing up.

Thanks for any insight.
