Clunk, Clunk, Sqeak, Squeak.....

Just got this 90 MTX over eBay.... it has a definite clunking sound from the left rear strut area as well as a sqeaking sound from the same area. Went to a muffler shop to see if the exhaust hanger was broken or something, NOPE. I looked underneath while it was on the rack and noted that the rear struts looked to be fairly new, but the rear-end links looked to be old. Also, I didn't see any visible bushings on the swaybar ends. Any advice.....

My 89 does the same thing. I believe it's a worn strut mount. It's annoying, but I doubt that it's a safety concern.

Why is it always the LEFT rear?

Where is the best place to get a new strut mount

you're absolutely right... the sound will drive you insane!!! I don't mind replacing the mount, but I don't want to have to keep doing it over and over. Where should I buy a new one and should I being doing both the left rear and right rear at the same time...... You guys are too cool

Might as well do em both so you dont have to worry about em anymore

i'd get the moog or monroe mounts
