Just got this 90 MTX over eBay.... it has a definite clunking sound from the left rear strut area as well as a sqeaking sound from the same area. Went to a muffler shop to see if the exhaust hanger was broken or something, NOPE. I looked underneath while it was on the rack and noted that the rear struts looked to be fairly new, but the rear-end links looked to be old. Also, I didn't see any visible bushings on the swaybar ends. Any advice.....   :madflame:

My 89 does the same thing. I believe it's a worn strut mount. It's annoying, but I doubt that it's a safety concern.

Why is it always the LEFT rear?

Where is the best place to get a new strut mount

you're absolutely right... the sound will drive you insane!!! I don't mind replacing the mount, but I don't want to have to keep doing it over and over. Where should I buy a new one and should I being doing both the left rear and right rear at the same time...... You guys are too cool :thumb:
