Hello friends. In the 4 months and 5,000 miles of owning my 2010, there have been 2 occasions where the transmission gives a sharp, loud, clunk and then a jolt. While there is no predictor of the event, they both seemed to happen at about 30-40 mph and happened between coasting and accelerating. First time my wife was driving on wet pavement. 2nd time was me on dry pavement. The car recovers quickly with no continued problems.
Questions; is this a common occurrence? Is it something that could be covered by warranty, and if so, what do they do to the transmission??

Any advice and comments appreciated.

Unfortunately, there has been a fair amount of clunking going on. Get the TSB 11-5-6 performed and hope for the best.

Welcome to the world of Ford transmissions. I have had the TSB 11-5-6 done and while it does help, it is not a cure all for our transmission issues. Now my reverse to forward shift seems like forever and I still get a clunk once in a while.

Throw a Audi trans in our car and you would have the perfect vehicle.

Sounds like the transmission range sensor. You'll need to have them replace that.
