Now ive heard from some people (a few credible, some not so much) that this "flickering" of my interior electronic accessories is from a relay.

Basically, in a sense, the clock, and digital climate control is most noticed. They flicker on and off at random times. Dimming as if you turned on your lights. Sometimes in flickers for 20 times, other times its as random as 3 flicks, pausing, and another 4.

Idk if its a relay, or what. But i do have some electrical issues with my car. Hit the unlock button and my parking lights with flash. Start the car and try about 1 min later and you can lock/unlock the doors all day.

This stuff is starting to bother me. Would like to get it fixed

this is a timely and consistent click. no matter how many times it flickers, the elapsed time in between clicks is consistent. so this is not some simple short to ground.

thats how i figure. been doing this since i was 4. i wouldnt post if i knew what it was

Play nice in the sandbox !! Jk

But that tidbit of info would have been helpfull in the beginning of your post.....but seriously my boy and I were taking about this and we can't figure what the common denominator is between those diffrent systems except grounds and power ... But mabe I am not understanding the issue. Was there another thread regarding all of this....

Try to make your discription as clear as posible . Rember you are the only one who gets to see exactly what is going on. all we have to go on is what you describe to us.

For example I had a violent shake in reverse . After changing the trans ,clutch, pressure plate, reinforced mm' s, it wound up being the clutch quadrant.( thank you again james :) )If I had bothered to discribe the problem better, I could have saved my self over a $1000 bucks for a $50 part.

When people post there ideas for your problem they are only trying to help.

And take it from me ( an electrician ) if you are having this many electrical problems now expect them to get worse . Tackle the electrical issue first like LOWC said and you may solve your own problem. If nothing else it will be one less thing to deal with.

All that said .. I am not the most knowledgeable person so I hope you figure it out .

Mine still flickers when I have the headlights on. I did change my alternator, battery, and starter. My next move is to change the clock out.

i think some need to be more specific asfar as a flicker.

a flicker as i know it would be it turning off then on really qwickly(maybe im wrong)
and a light dimming because of a change in power on that circuit.(normal in some cases)

for some reason i dont see them being under the same type of issue:shrug::shrug:

no, see that sounds exactly right!
the electronic climate display and the radio "flicker"

as in... power is drawn from that circuit (just as the same when i turn my lights on)
and then it flickers off. and the brightness is restored.

flickers at about... lets say 3-4 times a second?
and the longevity and occurance of it is always random. but ive noticed it more in the 40 degree weather than the 12 degree.

so it seems a few of us are having the same problem, but no one has mentioned it before. And unless anyone knows of anything, how is it fixed?

The light switch on the dash is a high failure part and I would start there by replacing it. I assume it is tied into anthing with an electronic display as IIRC it controls brightness and such.

As far as the unlock button and such, that is puzzling. I wonder if it's all routed through the clockspring. You need an EVTM manual to see the interconnects and relays.
