Hey guys. I've noticed that the clearcoat is flaking on the leading edge of both of my front doors. Is there an easy or inexpensive fix for this, or am I looking at having the car sprayed? Thanks for your help.

Looks like its a REPAIR thats flaking, as the surface underneith shows no signs of discoloration, but DOES show signs of scotch bright activity.

car was prob repainted at some point, and this is a result of insufficient scuffing + time

Might be able to have JUST these sections repainted and blended @ the mirror, but that depends on what (if any) other work you would want to do in the process.

I kind of thought it was gonna have to be repainted. Area 91 - are you serious about the clear nail polish? You know April Fool's was yesterday... lol

Negative ghostrider, that's typical early 90's Ford clear coat delaminating.

It happened to my '92 before the repaint. At one point, the entire roof came off in one sheet.

No amount of clear nail polish is going to stop the rest of the clear coat from coming off. That said, don't do what I did and try to pull if off in one quick motion. It won't end how you think it will, trust me.
