Its behind the throttle body. It takes a 5mm hex key to remove the 2 scews. It is the small cylinder thing.

i've been having an issue regarding a rough idle either when warming up or waiting at a stop light. at rpms above 1500, car runs fine until i stop and idle for awhile. there is also a humming noise under the hood everyso often. could the issue be a bad IAC?

The lower mounting bolt is tough to reach. A long 1/4" drive socket extension with hex socket can reach under the runners to make it easier.

DO NOT DROP THOSE SCREWS!!!!

I dropped one underneath the fuel rails and couldn't get it with a magnet, I spent an hour trying to get it, and my girlfriend even tried for a while and couldn't get it. I ended up taking the intake off for the third time in a week.

You might want to get a spare gasket (there are 2) just in case.

When I pulled mine off I was expecting a paper gasket, but instead it was a metal gasket coated with something.. needless to say half the gasket coating remained on the gasket, and the other half was baked onto the IAC.

fortunately the Felpro intake gasket set came with replacements :thumb:

otherwise.. tiny/moderate vacuum leak may occur.

I have also seen another issue mentioned which can cause an odd intake noise...the rubber intake tube gets some sort of a resonance going on, and it makes a humming sound, putting your hand on the tube stops it. It only seems to happen at a very specific RPM. My car does this sometimes, and I recall others mentioning it. It's probably your IAC, but I thought I'd mention this as another possibility.

Speaking of IAC's....my SHO keeps dying or revving randomly at idle...time to clean that thing again...if it ain't one thing, it's another!

well... the iac is replaced... even double checked with a mechanic (being that im still learning)... iac has been replaced today... took it out for a drive and idle doesnt flucuate like crazy anymore but rpms seem weak at idle... i placed it in park and idle felt weak (bout 550 - 600 rpms) gave it a rev up to 2000 rpms and needle droped to about 400 rpm's and died... no vaccum leaks found upon inspection. does anyone have any suggestions?
