My engine compartment is getting a little dirty and am wondering how to best clean it.

Simple green, a cloth, a toothbrush, and elbow grease. By no means use a pressure washer, there's been at least a dozen on here that have flooded their plug wells with water and shorted their electronics attempting it. Also dont use harsh chemicals like brake or carb cleaner they will strip the protective coating off the intake when you go to rub it off.

I just completed that task yesterday. I had took the intake off and found that my intake nostrils were completly filled with sticky carbon. Went to AZ and bought a couple of cans of degreaser, non chlorinated brake cleaner and a bag of rags. DONT USE PRESURRISED WATER. It took me about three hours to clean off the Intake, valve covers and various hoses. Also make sure you put rags over the air intake holes and sprak plug holes to keep the dirt out. Have fun :thumb:
