I had LED's installed on mine.

But it was primarily for the SHOw aspect(s) as that is a category that is checked off and points scored for it's implementation. Particularly at larger, national based events.

The local car club I roll with, each of the owners has them as well. In varying colors, placement, etc.

I kind of like 'em. But I can understand why others wouldn't want them.

Meh. Each their own, as always.85a2a94b79a014c4ca33a8062ef38b118b22a3045d672a19e389faf282f42315988711e401ac60726ab6ce98a734b276Ae991fb02beedf3baadd1164ae35c0e0426e3528fafd7214bcf818716a36113d

Since the question came up..
The kits are cheap these days and look pretty good. I wouldn't call them trashy. Unnecessary, for sure.

With the right color and placement they're kind of cool. Essentially just parking lot toys for fun. The ambient interior lighting is kind of a factory nod to that. Not the same thing, but I'm really wanting to crack open my headlights and install halo's.

So I pulled the trigger on a set, showed my daughter a couple videos and she boarder line lost her damn mind. Should be here this weekend, I'm sure I'll have her help me get'em put up, but try to do my best in keepin' it classy lol

Not to take over but only to piggyback. How do we feel about the Star Ceilings
I can't honestly say that I'm a fan of it. Aside from taking hours/days to poke the fiber optics, the wow factor just isn't there for me.

That's not to say that I hate it. I just feel like something much cooler could be produced for the amount of time/energy that goes into creating it.

Biggest thing for me is don't let the the direct light shine through. You want people to see the glow, not the direct light. Underneath shouldn't be that hard to hide, but if you put them behind the grill, etc just make sure you've got the actual glow strip hidden out of sight.

Good luck and post pics!

I love LED's and ambient lighting and always try to be very careful to not cross the line between nice and cheesy. Love the Taurus' mood lights and always liked the underbody LED's, but for me, the car has to be somewhat modified/muscle like for the lights to make sense. A stock look vehicle looks ridiculous with underbody glow.
I've never planned to add them to my SHO since I don't do car shows and don't want to get a ticket for driving with those ON, but I like them.

This is a wet bar I built in my basement. Would never do that to my living room but on a bar...

Little ones make everything more interesting.........

I told my 3 year old, "Dont put your hand in there (dirty oil pan)." Sure enough, hand goes in! I look at her, "I told you". Then she tells me, "This is so cool!".....not what I was expecting......touche kid, now grab that rag and show your mama....lol.

I’m just proud of her for keeping interest throughout the job. Sure it took twice as long, but worth it explaining everything and keeping her busy. Oily little kid fingers and garage floor aside. Hahaha
There is something to be said about that. Younger kids have so many thing at their disposal to keep themselves entertained. However, they seem to have really smaller attention spans. It was refreshing to keep my 3 year entertained (she was entertaining me more then the latter), bonds were made, and the job (as you said took twice as long) was done. Great Success.

Enjoy them and share as much as you can while they are little, very very soon they will not want to do stuff with you. Both mine are teenagers and I have to "force" them to join me in the garage... either you come help or you are not using the car !

Both of my daughters were encouraged to do their own vehicle maintenance (with my help/guidance), and both thank me whenever they have car problems. They have an understanding of their cars, and at least know what they are talking about if they have to take it to a dealer or shop. My GRANDkids on the other hand... (I bought my grandson a new '13 Fiesta Titanium 5-speed and gave him a complete tool kit for his birthday. I don't think he knows which end of a screwdriver to use. He totaled the car within a year.)
