Hey guys just wondering who, or if any body is still selling the cowl hood latch reinforce kit? I just got a cowl hood this weekend Thanks to (Sho-n-GO). I'm having trouble latching it down. I have it all lined up right but it won't latch down for the life of me! But i was wanting to get the reinforce kit so that when i repaint the hood the latch area won't get all chewed up! And if any body has any tips about how to get it latched down.. with out using uggly hood pins! please let me know!

Thanks

Hmmm I would think that if your stops are adjusted so your hood lines up with the fender profile your latch should drop right in. You should be able to watch the latch alignment as you slowly lower the hood over it, maybe seeing whatever the problem is?

The plates can be bought directly from Mike, whose contact info escapes me. Nice guy to deal with. The plate comes pre-drilled, but you'll need to drill your hood and rivet the plate into place. Comes with rivets, you'll need the gun.

I can't say I had any latching issues with mine, sorry I can't point you to a common problem area.

Hey thats cool! I ended up getting it. I raised the latch. I drilled new holes so that i can move the latch up and down. And i adjusted the stops. Every thing is looking good now. Which Mike are you speaking about? Mikey from midwest sho? Or some one else? If any body has this info please let me know! :thumb:

Thanks

No, although Mike at Midwest is an outstanding resource I was referring to the Mike in Cincinatti who deals the hoods.

Not entirely sure, so maybe someone can jump in and correct me. I seem to remember his e-mail as [email protected] or something like that.

His contact info has been discussed before, so a search too should yield that info.

Glad to hear you got that latch working, and good luck with the plate. :thumb:
