I just got a '99 sho with 28,500 miles and transferred my '97 mods over. First, I sent the SuperChip to be burned based on the new ECC code. Cleaned the computer connectors thoroughly, installed it and started the car (started fine but I should have test driven it for a day or two). Immediately I took out the stock air filter to replace it with the ShoShop Cold air box. Disconnected all cables for easier access to bolts. When I finished I attempted to place a small sensor(mass air sensor??) in the cut out made for it (push and turn to lock). It was not simple so I figured the sensor should be disconnected. After disconnecting from the tip the car made a gasp noise(or release of air noise) with the battery disconnected. Disconnecting the MAS at the tip did not do the trick so I connected it again and was able push it in enough to turn it an lock it. I turned the ignition and the car sounded like it pulled in air and stopped turning over. I turned it over agian and it started fine. Drove it down the street and felt the benefits of both products but it immediately started to stall under 30 mph and at stop lights. It was 1:30 a.m. and I felt like crying. The service engine soon light flickers and something on the drivers side of the engine where the air filter is makes a clicking noise. Have to turn the car totally off and start it again. headbang

Any ideas? Start by removing chip?

First off, congrats on the new SHO. I bet it is the same one on ebay. That thing was be-u-tee-ful! Anyway, from the sound of it, it seems you disconnected the air temp sensor that plugs into the air box. Without this, the computer has no idea how hot or cold the air is that is entering the computer.

Removal of the chip is a good idea. After that, disconnect the battery for 5-10 minutes. When you reconnect the battery it should reset the computer to it's default status. Take it for a test ride and beat the bag out of it to see if you can duplicate your problems. If not, plug the chip back in and repeat test ride. When you drove it before you made any mods, did you notice any issues?

Keep us informed.

It was fun driving home with my wife in a black '97 and me in a white '99. The white with tinted windows draws more lookers. Black is a genuine sleeper. This is only my opinion after experience in driving both. I still love black...with shiny chrome rims.

Thanks for the tips. I will remove the chip & batt tonight and test drive it. Prior to the mods the car was running like I just pulled it out of the SHO-room. Someone had mentioned that it takes a computer approx 200 miles to learn changes but in all my research I found the computer is advanced and learns mods immediately. </strong>
[/qb]
