Check Engine light, Car starts Jerking.

Hey all- 95 SHO here, 103,000k on it. Check engine light has been coming on for about 6 weeks now. Normally goes off after a mile or two, but the last two times it has come on the entire car starts jerking really strong. The jerking stops when I let up off the pedal and does not die. However when I accellerate the jerking comes back. It does eventually work itself out normally after about a mile or two. I have seen mention of this problem here before but have not seen a fix. Any answers would be great.

The first and easiest step you can take towards diagnosing your problem is checking for stored codes in your computer's memory. Have a look here for instructions on how to check your codes and what they mean. Post the results back here, and maybe we can help you out some more!

Same thing happened to me with my 93. Turned out I had neglected to put in the two bolts on the intake manifold that ground the DIS I'm sure this isn't your problem but it does sound like it could be a bad DIS; that or a failing fuel pump. Run the codes and see what you get, I wouldn't be surprised to see either a fuel pump or DIS code come up. Hope this helps.
