Ok,heres one problem.vRecently the car blew one of the heater core hoses, on the backside of the engine. We got that replaced, but now when i turn the heat on it smells strongly of coolant. I do not see any leaks, and the carpet is not wet, like with a heater core leak.
Ok, now here the codes I pulled when the check engine light started coming on after i Had driven for awhile. It always just comes on after about 15 minutes of driving.
KOEO- 117, 652, 854(I swear, it even repeated it), 217
KOER- 116(Midwest wouldn't bring up what it is), 136, 225
Im pretty sure im getting these right, but ya never know. The car seems to run fine, as i had it at the drag strip, and it ran the same times as usual. Thanks for any help. Will

I show those codes as

  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">117 ECT sensor is/was low or grounded
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">652 Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) circuit fault
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">217 Primary circuit failure - ignition coil 3
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">116 Engine Coolant (ECT) sensor out of range
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">136 Oxygen sensor not switching/system lean Left or Front HO2S
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">225 Knock sensor not tested (ignore if not pinging)
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">
I couldn't find reference to the 854 code.

You may need to rerun the codes, but before you do, you need to read the information in the links at teh bottom of my signature regarding the sequence of the code flashes. There is a blink of fast codes to start the hard faults, the three-digit codes, the codes repeated, a six second pause, a single separator flash, another six second pause, the memory codes and the memory codes repeated. I suspect you really got the codes below for the KOEO test, but you should learn what to look for and run it again. Turn the climate control off first.

Hard Faults
176 (M) Oxygen sensor not switching - system is or was lean Left or Front HO2S
528 (M) System shows voltage at pin 10 (is A/C on ?) or pin 30 (PNP, CPP switch)

Memory Codes
542 (O,M) Fuel pump open, bad ground or always on

The KOER test flashes the single pulse at you to get you to goose the throttle. The 225 can be ignored if you don't have a problem with knocking during normal driving. The others are:

116 (O,R) Engine Coolant (ECT) sensor out of range
136 (R) Oxygen sensor not switching/system lean Left or Front HO2S
225 (R) Knock sensor not tested (ignore if not pinging)

The engine was probably still cold (ECT error), but you do have a non-working front bank oxygen sensor.
