Is there a kit that can be bought to put a storage compartment below the stero? My '95 had the 2 decks (cassette & CD) and I have replaced with a new Alpine single DIN. I'd like to remove the unused CD player and put a storage compartment similar to SHO's with only 1 deck. Is a boneyard the only place to find? Are they the same as regular Taurus-esses? Tauri?

yes they're the same as regular taurii, there are two different options you'll find in the junk yard. one has to slides, one is (practically useless for anything but a 12 ounce can or )cup holders, the other is like a change tray that pops out and has a shallow pocket where i used to keep business cards and a spare key.

the other is just a hollow cavity about the size of your CD deck that has a door on the front that flips open to reveal the storage pocket.

i'd get the storage pocket if i were you.

I like the 2 slides option (fairly common on sables if your looking for a used part), keeps coins organized in a cool "beer guy's coin dispenser" manner and away from under your seats rendering them useless, makes a convenient holder for your registration/insurance card, and the flip out cup holders (be sure to double check the flip-out parts not broken off and intact) although relatively small, as stated by SHOmetheway, holds cans and standard sized water bottles perfectly and snugly in the event you get a sudden need for speed

I just had a flashback and realized my '94 had the coin/cup thingy and my '90 had the door. I wonder if the door will fit in my 2 DIN configuration (I don't have the divider between mt stereo and the soon to be empty compartment)

...and only 12oz cans will fit - I remember vividly not being able to put a 24oz Dunkin Donuts coffee in it!
