CEL with NO codes

Hey guys,

I'm pretty new here so here goes, the check engine light is really driving me insane. sometimes it comes on and stays on for a long period of time (20-30 min). other times it just flashes on then off then back on again. the car runs great. i have a 95 atx that i really love. being that i'm 17 and have a SHO, that makes me pretty damn special.

My dad and i have run the codes when we had the emmisions checked but there's nothin. no codes or anything. it seems as though there's something wrong with the wires or something.

There are other electrical problems as well:
1. the extra radio controls on the dash sometimes don't work esp. the volume down button
2. the passenger side rear window will go down from the master controls from the front driver but it wont go up unless you use the rear passenger window button. kinda wierd.
3. i'm not sure this is electrical or not but the cd display seems to light parts that don't need to be. like when it is supposed to say track 1, it faintly lights all parts of the digital number and the 1 is a little darker. it makes it hard to read.

Just hoping you guys could shed a little light on some of my problems.

Are you sure your pulling the codes right? Those other problems are totally unrelated.

I'm pretty sure they're being done right. some shop that we took it to ran them and came up with nothing.

i know the others are unrelated but i was just wondering if anyone might have any ideas on what the problem was or how to fix it.

1. Possibly a short? Pull the panel out and look for lose or cut wires.

2. Contacts need to be cleaned. My 92 has the same problem. You need to pull the panel out and clean the electrical contacts of the switch.

3. Internal electrical problem, maybe a burnt out bulb? I don't know if you can really fix that...maybe change a bulb in the CD player, if possible. Hope that helps. Check www.shotimes.com for more help.
