I am getting a check engine light on a 1990 SHO after it is running for a while. Hooked up the code tester and no stored codes and passes with 11 everytime. I thought the check engine light will throw a code everytime. Is the ECU bad? I performed searches using "no codes", "CEL", "check engine light" and did not find any occurances of check engine light without any codes.

Thanks.

I belive code 11 means that the car is running fine... and it passed the test's with no problems. So is the car showing signs that it isn't running right? Does the light turn on after you turn something on or just running down the road and it turns on? Does the light turn on when you first start the car?

You might want to try the manual method of reading the codes by just using a jumper and letting the CHECK ENGINE light display any codes. Check the links in my signature for the jumper location.

The check engine light come on after the car is up to operating temp. Some times the light goes off on its own after several minutes of being on.

I am using a SUN code reader that I have used sucessfully of several different SHO's. I will try the jumper method shown on the SHOTIMES FAQ.
