Car lock.. Honk twice

So, when I use my remote entry to lock my car, sometimes, not all the time, it honks twice instead of once.

Does this mean anything?

It usually means that the car thinks that one or more doors are open.

That's what I was thinking, just had to make sure. My damn locks on the doors are sticking.. annoying mothers!

im havin no probs with mine and all the doors will be shut (no door ajar light)and sometimes it does it.... owell

Yeah.. it was ******* me off the other day.. the door ajar light was just staying on, even after I went around to every door and manually looked each door (with them open) and still didn't turn off. Who knows!?

Could be the hood as well

So, when I use my remote entry to lock my car, sometimes, not all the time, it honks twice instead of once.

On the '96's in particular there is a rubber button that sets the hood switch. sometimes this button wears a hole in it and the switch will poke through indicating a "hood open" condition. This can also cause two beeps when double pressing the lock button.

Likewise if the alarm is armed and the hood has been recently opened the switch will pop through the rubber plug eventually and trigger the alarm as the system thinks the hood has been opened somehow.
