I think it's a MTX only item, I could be wrong though. It's just an engine damper right?
Yup. It's the strut in the engine bay. On the MTX there are two, on the ATX, none. They are located on the fore and the aft of the engine.

I replaced my camshaft position sensor with nothing else removed. I think I had a bloody knuckle but it took about an hour to finagle the two bolts out and back in again just with the bad angles. Was definitely faster than removing the intake/brackets/belts.

Good to know about the holes in the strut tower though!

I just took off the crossover tube on the intake and it took me a total of literally 5min 51secs to change mine out.

X2, Definitely the quick and easy way to reach the CID; at least on the MTX. Don't have an ATX so can't comment.
