Had a little problem and took the front upper cam out of my car. The cars got 250K on it. What's the best way to go about fixing it, replace all of the cams or just that one?

Most of the gen3 owners here have had the cams welded, but I know there are a few running around who have experienced the sproket slipping and have either fixed the problem or had the motor rebuilt. Go to www.v8sho.com for more details.

Ok, can you first tell us what year SHO you have?

Since you posted in this section (Gen III), I'll assume you're talking about a '96-'99 V8 SHO.

Replacing the cam alone won't fix the problem. You'll need to pull the head and replace all the valves that bent when the cam failed.

Give us some more information and we can advise you further.
