CAM Weld in AZ or trip to LA?

Guys,

Sorry for being off the list for a while, but had a lot of travelling to do. First to the UK and then to California. Hopefully, it'll calm down for a while.

Anyway, I've found someone in LA that will do the cam welds, they've done plenty of them before. Problem is that as well as the costs of getting the actual work done there is the 15 hour round trip and overnight stop in LA.


Did we get anywhere with a AZ camfest or am I taking the trip to LA?

I don't think I'm experienced enough to do them yet. Maybe you could find a few others on the forum and get a group weld going. Might lower the price considerably.

I've decided that I am going to make the run up to LA to get the CAMs done, etc.

Dave is a certified A&P mechanic, motorcycle and mustang road racer. I all the confidence in the world that he will do a good job on your car. I got a small tutorial that I am putting up on my website that he will use for referance. If I can ever get moved out there, I will be doing them for people if they want them done.

The only reason I am going to John to get them done, was that I was talking to him in conjunction to yourself. John ordered a tranny cooler for me, and so is out of pocket. So rather than him ship it to me, etc. I'll just take a run up to him and get it all done.

If John hadn't ordered stuff I would have got Dave to do it. I'm going to make contact with Dave though as I will definitely need a good mechanic. Of course when you move down here, I'll be bugging you.
